Rank

Local SEO

Being the business Google shows when someone nearby searches for what you do — in the map pack, above the ordinary results.

For a business with a location or a service area, local search is usually the highest-return work available. The map pack sits above the normal results, it is free to appear in, and most competitors set their listing up once and never touch it again.

Local ranking is driven by things quite different from ordinary SEO: proximity, category accuracy, review volume and consistency of your details across the web. We work on the ones you can actually control.

What's included

Google Business Profile as the anchor

Claimed, verified and properly categorised, since the profile is what the map pack ranks. Covered in depth on its own page.

Citations and NAP consistency

Your name, address and phone matching across the directories Google cross-checks. Conflicting details are a common and quietly expensive ranking drag.

Location pages that are not clones

A genuine page per area you serve, with real local detail. Spinning up fifty near-identical town pages is a well-known tactic that now does more harm than good.

Reviews as a ranking factor

A process for earning them steadily and replying to all of them. In local search, reviews move rankings as well as persuading people.

Local tracking that means something

Calls, direction requests and profile clicks — the actions a local customer actually takes, rather than sessions.

Who this is for

  • Businesses with a shopfront, clinic, showroom or office customers visit
  • Service businesses who travel to customers within a defined area
  • Multi-branch businesses whose locations compete with each other in search

Common questions

Usually both, and they do not conflict. Local work captures the high-intent nearby searches, which convert fastest; national SEO builds the broader pipeline. If you have a physical location, local is normally the quicker return of the two.

Proximity is only one factor. Category selection, review volume and recency, profile completeness and citation consistency all count, and a well-maintained profile a few kilometres further away will routinely beat a neglected one next door. That gap is usually closeable.

For genuine service areas, yes — with real content about working in that area. What we will not do is generate near-identical pages with the town name swapped. Google has been explicit about that pattern for years, and it now risks the rankings you already have.
