AI Development

AI built into your own product: assistants that know your business, search that understands meaning, and features that would be impractical to code by hand.

There is a real difference between adding AI because it is expected and building a feature that solves something. We are interested in the second. The useful applications tend to be unglamorous: search that understands what someone meant, support that answers from your actual documentation, classification that would take a person hours.

We also build the evaluation. Without a way to measure whether the feature is right, an AI product is a demo that works until a real customer asks something unexpected.

What's included

Assistants grounded in your content

Retrieval-augmented systems that answer from your documentation and data, with citations, rather than inventing plausible answers.

Semantic search

Search that finds what someone meant rather than what they literally typed — usually the single highest-value AI feature in an existing product.

Classification and extraction

Sorting, tagging and pulling structured data out of unstructured text at a volume that is impractical manually.

Evaluation before launch

A test set and a measurable pass mark, so you know how often the feature is right before customers find out for you.

Cost and latency control

Model choice, caching and prompt design tuned so the feature stays affordable at volume rather than only in the demo.

Who this is for

  • Products where users struggle to find what they need
  • Businesses answering the same support questions from documentation that already exists
  • Companies with large volumes of unstructured text nobody has time to read

Common questions

Language models can, which is why the architecture matters more than the model. Grounding answers in your own content, requiring citations, and returning "I do not know" rather than guessing all reduce it substantially. We also test for it before launch instead of finding out from a customer.

Whichever fits the task, the budget and the latency you need — and we will explain the trade-off rather than defaulting to the most expensive. The model is also the easiest part to change later; the surrounding system is what takes the work.

Not under the business API terms of the major providers, which exclude API data from training by default. We will confirm the specific terms for whichever provider your project uses, in writing, before anything is sent.
